With the PadoSero, you can determine the serotypes of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, including the highly virulent JP2 clone and avoid overtreatment with antibiotics associated with this bacterium. Serotypes are variants within the species with different virulence. A distinction is made between serotypes a, b (JP2 clone if applicable), c, d, e, and f. Serotype a occurs with a high prevalence (25%) but has the lowest virulence and thus does not warrant antibiotic administration.

If the PadoSero analyzes Aa of serotype a in type 4A, adjuvant administration of amoxicillin can be omitted.
The therapy recommendation changes from amoxicillin 500 mg 3 times daily for 7 days each to subgingival instrumentation without antibiotic indication.
If the PadoSero analyzes Aa of serotype a in type 5B, adjuvant administration of amoxicillin can be omitted.
Therapy recommendation changes from metronidazole 3x daily each for 7 days (400 - 500 mg) + amoxicillin (500 mg) to metronidazole 3 x 400 - 500 mg, daily for 7 days.
